I stole this from Sheree's house. :)

This has to be my favorite quote of all time. Thank you Mama Sheree! XO

The Happiest Place On Earth!

February was an exciting month! We got our new cat, and we also went to LA for my sister's birthday! I had been telling my sister for weeks that we couldn't be there, when really I planned to surprise her. =) She was at dinner, and her boyfriend Jon called her saying he had arrived, so she came out to the parking lot to get him. As she walked towards him, it took her a couple seconds to realize that the people walking with him were me and Ryan! Her scream said it all, the surprise worked, and she was happy to see us.

So that Saturday, we all drove to Disneyland for the day! This was Ryan's first disneyland trip since he was 6, and he didn't think he would like it. He pictured disneyland as boring for adults, and only fun for little kids. Well all told him he was wrong, but I knew he had to find out for himself.

Seeing his face as we walked around, and looking at his smile while we were on rides really made my day. He LOVED it! Now all he can talk about is going back. Being a huge disneyland fan myself, I was happy to prove him wrong. =)

Right as we walked through the gate.

The Never Ending Quest

My Momma raised me right. She was a dietitian, and only fed my family the healthiest meals. Ever since I moved out on my own 4 years ago.... that changed. Don't get me wrong, I still eat fairly healthy, I just don't have those home cooked meals my Mom used to make which always contained protein, starch, vegetables, and milk. I wish I had the time, and the money to keep this up, but with our schedules & school we just don't! It's almost cheaper to split Chipotle, so a lot of the time that's what we do.

I'm here to make a promise on the world wide web that I'm going to make a change, today! I'm going to make more home cooked meals, not skip breakfast, and drop the sweets (including my beloved salt & vinegar chips.) Ryan's coming on this difficult journey with me whether he likes it or not. =) Hopefully we can both be motivated enough to get up in the morning to jog before work and school.

Today I just put together a crock pot meal that will be ready for dinner. Lets hope I can keep this up.

I'm already afraid... Who's with me?! =)

Raisin

In February, we got another cat named Raisin. It was a completely unplanned adoption, we went to Petsmart that morning, and the feline network had cats out in front of the store. Me being me, I just wanted to go up and pet them, and we ended up leaving with one! We knew we would eventually get another cat, just not this fast! I'm so happy with him, he loves to snuggle...and eat too!
Raisin, the day we brought him home.
After a week of separation, these two are best friends.
